Through choir and community events, Teen Challenge NorWestCal Nevada gives back to the communities that support the organization.
Upcoming Choir Performances
Our choir performances are one of our most common outreaches. If you'd like to see our Teen Challenge NorWestCal Nevada choir teams live, click the calendar for event details.
The Oakland Men’s Center offers a drug and gang prevention outreach program to the community called God’s Gang. God’s Gang is making a positive impact in the Oakland area by encouraging the youth to come in off the gang infested streets to a place where the environment is safe and where they receive love, attention, and have fun. God’s Gang gives the kids a physical fitness/recreation program, a safe-environment to learn, play, eat, have fun and establish healthy relationships. It also provides them an opportunity to hear the life-changing stories from Teen Challenge staff and students.
The City's Multi Agency Outreach Resource Engagement Project known as the MORE Team provides street level assistance services for the homeless in downtown Las Vegas. We send two individuals out 3 times a week with this team.
The Giving Project
The Giving Project is a monthly outreach held downtown Las Vegas where several local organizations and service providers join together to meet the needs of the local community.
"i Am Not Alone" Ministries
This Anti-Suicide ministry is all about letting young people know that they are not alone and to reach out for help if they need it. Our Teen Challenge Adolescent Girls just recently participated in an event put on by this ministry and helped pass out t-shirts at the local high school.
We have individuals that are on the clergy list with the local detention center where we go in and interview men looking for program placement. We also have gone into the youth detention centers where we provided art therapy, mentoring, drama, and testimonies.
Project 180 Ministries
Once a month, Teen Challenge volunteers to bring help and hope to the homeless in San Francisco's Tenderloin District by participating in outreaches with Project 180 Ministries, which offer food, clothing, and spiritual uplifting. Project 180 Ministries is a volunteer-based ministry passionate about sharing the love of God through Jesus Christ. They help transition people off the streets and into safe recovery programs. In addition, they invite the homeless into a healthy community of people by offering emotional and spiritual support via weekly visits, prayers and social events. Project 180 believes in hope for changed lives and will walk alongside those less fortunate so they know they are loved.
Weekly Neighborhood Prayer Walk
Every Monday morning our students take a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood near our center. There are several homeless camps near and around us and our students pray for them while they are out on foot.
Shadow Hills Downtown Outreach
Teen Challenge partners with a local downtown church on a weekly basis to encourage and minister to the needs of local homeless individuals.
Our Adolescent Girl’s Center just recently opened. Since that time, the girls at the center have been performing community service projects to the elderly in their community and volunteering to clean a local church twice a month.
Indian SpringS Outreach
Teen Challenge travels to Indian Springs (a small town community just north of Las Vegas) multiple times a year. Our men assist with assisting the elderly and single parents, along with a Christmas in July Outreach where we bless the children of Indian Springs with food, clothing and toys.
Feeding the Homeless
The boys at the Reno/Sparks Adolescent Boy’s Center help feed the homeless near the Reno Gospel Mission throughout the year. They are also involved with keeping the community clean around the local school and parks in the neighborhood.
